Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 October 2026

This policy explains what FontGlint (fontglint.com) collects, why, who else receives it, and the choices you have. FontGlint is a free font generator with no accounts, and the text you type is converted in your own browser.

Summary

  • Your text stays on your device. FontGlint converts typed text in your browser and never sends it to our servers.
  • No accounts. FontGlint has no sign-up, so we hold no profiles, passwords or payment details.
  • Analytics. Google Analytics 4 measures visits and the style names people copy, never the text itself.
  • Advertising. Google AdSense shows ads that keep the site free, and Google and its partners use cookies to serve and measure those ads.
  • No sale of data. We do not sell your personal information.

Information we collect

FontGlint collects 4 kinds of information:

  • Usage data: pages viewed, time on page, the style name copied (for example "Bold Script"), referring site, and approximate location at city level, through Google Analytics 4.
  • Device data: browser type, operating system, screen size, language and device type, through Google Analytics 4 and Google AdSense.
  • Technical logs: IP address, request time and requested page, kept by our hosting provider to deliver the site and stop abuse.
  • Messages you send: your name, email address and message, when you use the contact form or email us.

We do not collect the text you type into the generators, and we do not ask for your name, age or phone number.

Information stored on your device

FontGlint uses your browser's local storage to remember 3 settings: your favorite styles, the last 10 styles you copied, and your preferred preview size. These settings stay on your device and never reach our servers. Clear them at any time in your browser's site data settings.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. FontGlint itself sets no cookies, and 2 Google services set cookies on our pages:

  • Analytics cookies (such as _ga) from Google Analytics 4 count visits and tell new visits from returning ones.
  • Advertising cookies from Google AdSense and its partners serve ads, limit how often you see an ad, measure ad results and, where you allow it, show ads based on your interests.

Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The generators keep working without cookies, and the ads you see become less relevant.

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service from Google LLC, to see how many people visit, which pages they use, and which styles they copy. GA4 records 2 kinds of events on FontGlint: page views and style copies, where a style copy sends only the style name, never your text.

Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses, and Google keeps GA4 data for the retention period we set, at most 14 months. We do not use GA4 to identify you, and we do not combine GA4 data with other data about you.

Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to stop GA4 on every site you visit.

Advertising with Google AdSense

FontGlint shows ads through Google AdSense, which keeps the site free. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to FontGlint and to other websites. Google's advertising cookies let Google and its partners serve ads to you based on those visits.

You have 3 ways to control ad personalization:

Ads you see after opting out are non-personalized ads, based on the page content and your general location instead of your browsing history.

Consent for visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland

Visitors from the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom (UK) and Switzerland see a consent message from a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP) before analytics and advertising cookies are set. The message offers 3 choices: accept all, reject all, or choose per purpose. Change your choice at any time through the privacy and cookie settings link in the consent message.

Other services we use

FontGlint relies on 4 other service providers, and each one receives only the data it needs:

  • Vercel hosts the website and processes IP addresses and request logs to deliver pages and block attacks (Vercel privacy policy).
  • Google Fonts delivers the preview fonts on pages such as the bubble and gothic font pages, after you tap the font preview button, and receives your IP address and browser details (Google Fonts privacy FAQ).
  • Web3Forms delivers messages from the contact form to our inbox, along with your name and email address, and checks each message for spam (Web3Forms privacy policy).
  • Google runs Google Analytics 4 and Google AdSense (Google privacy policy).

How we use information

We use the information we collect for 5 purposes:

  • Run and secure the website.
  • Measure which pages and styles people use, so we can add better styles.
  • Show ads that pay for the site.
  • Reply to messages and keep a record of the conversation.
  • Meet legal obligations.

Our legal bases under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) are your consent for analytics and advertising cookies, and our legitimate interest in running, securing and improving the site.

How long we keep information

Google keeps GA4 data for at most 14 months. Hosting logs stay for up to 30 days. Contact messages stay in our inbox for up to 24 months, and we delete them sooner on request; Web3Forms keeps its own copy of form messages for up to 3 years under its privacy policy. Local storage on your device stays until you clear it.

Your privacy rights

You have 6 rights over your personal data under the GDPR and the UK GDPR: access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and data portability, plus the right to withdraw consent at any time. Residents of California have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): to know what data is collected, to delete it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. FontGlint does not sell personal information; to opt out of ad-related sharing, use Google Ads Settings or the consent settings.

Send any privacy request to hello@fontglint.com, and we reply within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children's privacy

FontGlint is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). Email us to delete a message a child sent, if you believe a child contacted us.

Data security

FontGlint serves every page over HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure), stores no accounts or passwords, and never receives the text you type. No method of sending or storing data online is 100% secure, and we limit what we collect to keep the risk low.

Links to other websites

FontGlint links to other websites, such as Google and the apps named in our guides. This policy covers FontGlint only, so read the privacy policy of each site you visit.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our services or the law change, and the date at the top of the page shows the latest version. Changes take effect when posted on this page.
