What Is a Fancy Text Generator?
A fancy text generator is a text styling tool that swaps each letter for a decorative Unicode character or wraps the text in symbols and emoji. The result looks like a new font but stays plain text, so it works in bios, captions, chats and usernames that offer no font menu.
Fancy text generators go by 6 other names: fancy font generator, stylish text generator, fancy letters generator, fancy text maker, text stylizer and font changer. All 6 names describe the same idea: a Unicode text converter with a list of fancy text styles.
How Does a Fancy Text Generator Work?
A fancy text generator works with 3 kinds of styles:
- Character map styles replace each of the 52 Latin letters, and the 10 digits in some styles, with a matching character, for example A → 𝓐, 𝔄 or Ⓐ.
- Mark styles add a combining mark after every letter, for example a line through t̶e̶x̶t̶ or a bridge under t̪e̪x̪t̪.
- Decoration styles place symbols, emoji or emoticons around or between the letters, for example ★彡 text 彡★ or ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ text.
FontGlint combines the 3 kinds into fancy font style combos, such as a frame around bold script letters. The generated text contains only standard Unicode characters, so no image, plugin or font file is involved.
How to Use the Fancy Text Generator
To use the fancy text generator, type your text, pick a fancy text style, and copy it with one tap. Here are the 3 steps:
- Enter your text. Type or paste words into the input field at the top. Every style changes as you type.
- Find a style. Tap a filter such as Decorated, Emoji or Cursive, or type a style name like "bubble" into the search box.
- Copy and paste. Tap the style or its copy button, then paste the fancy text into your app.
On a phone, press and hold the spot where the text goes and tap Paste.
Fancy Text Styles You Can Copy and Paste
The fancy text generator offers 534 styles in 10 families, including cursive, blackletter, bubble, boxed and decorative fancy styles. Each family below lists its styles with an example.
Cursive, Bold and Italic Fancy Text
Cursive, bold and italic styles are the most readable fancy text. The family includes cursive (𝒞𝓊𝓇𝓈𝒾𝓋ℯ), cursive bold (𝓒𝓾𝓻𝓼𝓲𝓿𝓮 𝓑𝓸𝓵𝓭), bold (𝐁𝐨𝐥𝐝), italic (𝐼𝑡𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑐) and bold italic (𝑩𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝑰𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒄). See the cursive font generator and the bold text generator for more.
Blackletter and Gothic Fancy Text
Blackletter styles copy the look of old German print. The family has blackletter (𝔅𝔩𝔞𝔠𝔨𝔩𝔢𝔱𝔱𝔢𝔯) and blackletter bold (𝕭𝖑𝖆𝖈𝖐𝖑𝖊𝖙𝖙𝖊𝖗 𝕭𝖔𝖑𝖉), plus runes and glitch blackletter on the gothic font generator.
Bubble, Black Bubble and Black Square Text
Bubble styles put letters in circles or squares. The family has bubble (Ⓑⓤⓑⓑⓛⓔ), black bubble (🅑🅛🅐🅒🅚 🅑🅤🅑🅑🅛🅔), square (🅂🅀🅄🄰🅁🄴), black square (🅱🅻🅰🅲🅺 🆂🆀🆄🅰🆁🅴) and double-struck (𝔻𝕠𝕦𝕓𝕝𝕖). Black bubble and both square styles use capital letters only. More on the bubble text generator.
Brackets and Boxed Fancy Styles
Brackets and boxed fancy styles frame every letter. There are 7 boxed fancy styles: 【B】【o】【x】, 『B』『o』『x』, [B][o][x], ⟦B⟧⟦o⟧⟦x⟧, «B»«o»«x», B⃞o⃞x⃞ and B️⃣o️⃣x️⃣. These styles suit short words, as each letter takes 2 or 3 characters.
Decorative Fancy Styles
Decorative fancy styles wrap the whole text in symbols. FontGlint has 75 decorations, including ꧁༺ 𝓝𝓪𝓶𝓮 ༻꧂, ★彡 ɴᴀᴍᴇ 彡★, ʚ 𝓃𝒶𝓂ℯ ɞ and »»—— 𝗡𝗮𝗺𝗲 ——««. Each decoration appears with 4 different alphabets. Separator styles place a symbol between letters, such as l♡o♡v♡e or s★t★a★r.
Arrow, Bridge, Dot and Asterisk Effects
Mark effects attach a small symbol to every letter. FontGlint has 30 mark effects, including arrow above (A⃗r⃗r⃗o⃗w⃗), arrow below (A͢r͢r͢o͢w͢), bridge above (B͆r͆i͆d͆g͆e͆), bridge below (B̪r̪i̪d̪g̪e̪), bridge above and below (B̪͆r̪͆i̪͆d̪͆g̪͆e̪͆), dot above (Ḋȯṫ), asterisk below (S͙t͙a͙r͙), strikethrough (S̶t̶r̶i̶k̶e̶) and underline (U̲n̲d̲e̲r̲). Every effect comes in a plain version and a bold version.
Small Caps, Superscript, Subscript and Wide Text
Size styles change how tall or wide letters look. The family has small caps (ꜱᴍᴀʟʟ ᴄᴀᴘꜱ), superscript (ˢᵘᵖᵉʳˢᶜʳⁱᵖᵗ), subscript (ₛᵤbₛcᵣᵢₚₜ), the supersub fancy font style that alternates the two (ˢᵤᵖₑʳₛᵘb), and wide text (wide). Try the small text generator and the wide text generator.
Upside Down and Mirror Text
Upside down text flips each letter and reverses the order: uʍop ǝpᴉsdn. Mirror text reverses the order and uses mirrored letters: ɿoɿɿim. Both styles are on the upside down text generator.
Zalgo and Glitch Text
Zalgo text stacks random combining marks on each letter. FontGlint has 6 glitch styles in 4 strengths, from glitch light (g̪̍l̬ͣi̩t͇c̲͒h̼) to cursed (c͔̪̦̝͈̗͂ͤͧ́û̴̟̘̭̟̓̃̋̿r̶͚̟̖̞̗̻̯͊͆ͧͤ̒̆̄s̜͍̠̦̖ͮ̎ͯͯe͎̠͍̝̦͉̤̹̊̀ͤ̊ḓ̷̻͈͓̅̋ͨ̃), plus glitch bold and glitch gothic. See the glitch text generator.
Currency and Look-Alike Letters
Look-alike styles borrow letters from other scripts. FontGlint has 26 look-alike alphabets, including currency (₵ɄⱤⱤɆ₦₵Ɏ), Asian style (卂丂丨卂几), Canadian syllabics (ᑕᗩᑎᗩᗪIᗩᑎ) and Greek curly (ɠɾҽҽƙ). More are on the cool fonts page.

Emoticons Fancy Styles
Emoticons fancy styles use text faces, known as kaomoji, made from Unicode characters. The 6 emoticon styles are happy (◕‿◕), bear ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ, sparkle (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧, shrug ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, hug (づ。◕‿‿◕。)づ and flex ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ. Emoticons work in places that block emoji, such as some game chats.
Fancy Text for Social Media, Chats and Games
Fancy text works on any platform that accepts Unicode text. Here are the rules for 6 common places.
Fancy Text for Instagram
Fancy text for Instagram goes in the Name field, bio, captions, comments and Notes. The @username field rejects styled letters. Find bio-ready styles on the Instagram fonts page.
Fancy Text for TikTok
Fancy text for TikTok goes in the nickname, the 80-character bio, captions and comments. Short decorations fit the bio limit best. See TikTok fonts.
Fancy Text for Facebook and Twitter (X)
Fancy text for Facebook works in posts, comments and the profile intro, and Facebook rejects most styled letters in profile names. Fancy text for Twitter (X) works in the display name, bio and posts, and X counts many styled letters as 2 characters. More on Facebook fonts and Twitter fonts.
Fancy Text for WhatsApp and Discord
Fancy text for WhatsApp works in chats, the About section, status and group names. Fancy text for Discord works in display names, server nicknames, channel names and messages, and the Discord username field rejects styled letters. See WhatsApp fonts and Discord fonts.
Stylish Name, Nickname and Username
A stylish name or nickname works best with one alphabet and one decoration, such as ꧁ 𝓐𝔂𝓮𝓼𝓱𝓪 ꧂ or 亗𝗥𝗮𝗷𝗮亗. Usernames and @handles follow stricter rules than display names on almost every platform. Build names on the stylish name generator, the Free Fire name style generator (12-character check) and the PUBG name generator.
Fancy Text for Roblox
Fancy text for Roblox has 2 limits. Roblox usernames accept only letters, numbers and one underscore, and the Roblox chat filter replaces many special characters with hashtags (#). Test a style in a private chat before you use it in a game or group description.
Fancy Text vs Built-In Formatting
Fancy text changes the characters, while built-in formatting changes how an app displays normal characters. Built-in formatting stays searchable and readable by screen readers, and fancy text works in places with no formatting at all.
| App | Built-in formatting | Fancy text adds |
|---|---|---|
| *bold*, _italic_, ~strike~, monospace | Cursive, bubble, blackletter, emoji styles | |
| Discord | **bold**, *italic*, __underline__, ~~strike~~ in messages | Styled display names and channel names |
| Word and Google Docs | Real fonts, sizes and colors | Text that keeps its style after pasting elsewhere |
| Instagram, TikTok, X | None in bios and captions | Bold, italic, cursive and decorations |
Use built-in formatting, if the app has it. Use fancy text, if the app has no formatting or the text must keep its style across apps.
Fancy Text Troubleshooting
There are 5 common fancy text problems, and each one has a quick fix:
- Letters show as boxes (□). The device has no glyph for those characters. Switch to a style with the green support dot, such as bold, italic or bubble.
- The app rejects your name. The field blocks special characters. Paste the fancy text into the display name or bio, not the username.
- The copy button does nothing. The browser blocked clipboard access. Long-press the style and choose Copy from the menu.
- The text looks different on another phone. Phones and computers ship with different system fonts, so one character takes a slightly different shape. Nothing changes in the text you copied.
- The bio or name is too long. Decorations and marks count as characters. Pick a shorter decoration or a character map style without marks.
Best Practices for Fancy Text
There are 5 best practices for fancy text:
- Use fancy text for emphasis. One styled line, such as a name or a hook, stands out more than a fully styled caption.
- Pick 1 or 2 styles. A profile with one alphabet and one decoration looks clean.
- Keep long text plain. Paragraphs in cursive or zalgo are hard to read on small screens.
- Save your go-to styles. Tap the heart on a style to keep it in Favorites.
- Follow platform rules. Do not use look-alike letters to copy another person's name or hide blocked words.
